Converting formal living room in to family room.

I would like to make the room in the first photo (without fireplace) our family room but I'm not sure where to place the TV and what furniture would work best. We are a young family of six so we need lots of comfortable seating. The room with the fireplace could be incorporated into it.

Put the TV at an angle above radiator with sectional couch in bay

Put couch in bay and couch in TV room with viewing access to TV either over fireplace or in corner above radiator

The whole Room looks long. Try moving the sofa across the room opposite where it sits now. Leave the chair in bay window area. Maybe bring another chair or two for example of sectional. Place the tv on the wall where the sofa is at present. Get a feel for the layout before you do a lot of work and spend money on the wrong thing. Beautiful home. Good luck!

It looks like a bay window in the first room. Perhaps you could move the rose (?) chair to that window and put a small table between the two chairs. The TV would fit in the corner where the rose chair (with dog) as noted is now. I wouldn't want a TV over a radiator. I don't know how you can accommodate six in the room at present. Perhaps the room with the fireplace could accommodate a small sofa (or the present one), bookcase and lamps for reading, and a table and chairs for games or homework.
