I haven't tried this, but you can buy single thermofoil cabinet doors (randomly available) at Habitat for Humanity ReStores, and at least one paint manufacturer makes a spray paint specifically for plastics, so I would experiment with that and some antiquing or other modification on top of the paint and you may come up with a whole new idea! You would have to top coat it of course! Send me a message if this works out--i have been wanting to re-do mine since I bought this place but its a low priority compared to the rest of the projects. Mine are grey and white wood grain thermofoil, with grey silestone counter, grey and white ceramic tile floor...
