ideas for dining table centrepiece/scaping. help pls

Hi Guys, I recently purchased the white candle stick and the flowers to add to my dining table to give my place some colour. I HATE THEM.
I was trying to tie in the candle stick and flowers to my lounge area (it's the french provincial look kinda), while my dining table is more simple.

What can I put on my dining table to tie in with the rest. any ideas?? i've been looking and lookign and can't find anything that will bring colour and tie in. i am going to get rid of the candle stick and flowers. so open to any suggestions.

    Can you move the sofa so it floats in the room and faces the TV? A bold, complementary rug that anchors the seating arrangement can be laid right on top of the carpeting--look for a pad that will go between the two. Also--consider bringing in a table lamp (you'll need an end table!) or floor lamp. One more thing--visit ballarddesigns.com too. Your 'country French' look is all over the place on their website. You have an awesome blank slate here--all you really need is wiser placement of furniture and some accessories.

      I was stuck on this issue the other day. I ended up using my 3 different sized green wooden bowls and put different fruit in each one. It looks pretty cool and functional!

      Unfortunately I can't return them, I'm going to try and sell them on eBay, but I still think the dining table needs something on there all the time. The place is too white. Cushions and table scaping is causing me a lot of grief haha

      Candlestick too big and flowers too small. Consider the scale when you replace. Also just one candlestick looks awkward.

      I agree completely, I know I need three things but what. I'm getting rid of both the flowers and stick but I need ideas with what to place on the dining table that ties in the lounge area and dining table

      Put up the art on the wall behind the table. Pick a Color from the art and buy a sinle bold bloom like a peony in that color... You can put that in a simple Vase. If that punch of Olof doesn't do it for you. Make a tables cape with two vases keep the lowers the same and a candle stick or a nice bottle of wine, or a beautiful pepper shaker take our pick. Add a try to contain it all.

      Hi Elbra John, The basic color tone in the room is white and beige. Do you like marble counterpiece on table top? Below two picture with white marble table top with white background in the room for your reference. Statuario and Carrara marble is white with nice grey veins, which can tie in with the rest of the room. And the white marble would highlight the tabletop in the room. Besides, a marble composite table top panel will be great, because it is very light.

      I just saw you post if you don't want to do flowers you can replace just colorful pillars or bottles of wine and olive oil or salt and pepper grinders tke your puck. I think flowers would work best as they will soften the shape of the table and tie in the shapes of the chairs

      I think I like what lasa was saying with the blooms, vase, tray and something else to go with it. Now to fund this stuff.

      As for the marble, I think I would need to replace the table for that? I'm not very good with this stuff

      You can't go wrong with fresh flowers, or even a bowl of green apples.

      Hi mark, I agree fresh flowers are great but I can't afford them on a weekly basis, and as for apples, I don't know who would eat all of them weekly haha

      Is there a chandelier? Are you going to hang the art work that is leaning against the wall? If so, you might want to bring the red from those into your centrepiece:

      Yes the pictures are going to go up, there's a third one as well that I need to get a frame for and they will go up. My god lighting is the other issue I'm having. I have no idea what lighting to get for both areas. If I get white chandeliers the place is completely white with random red and a blue throw

      Elbra for Lighting go with something that brings in some age and texture. Nothing overbearing like hammered metal. Needs to stay light and airy in line with the mood in your space ... but a ribbed glass with some metal would work well I think .

      It would help to have a larger view of the room. From there I'd like to consider the placement of all the pieces as well as determine what's best for your tabletop. I see a bold runner on that table. With a simple, reflective piece (bowl?, group of glass candlesticks?) in the middle. Look at CB2.com for inspiration. Your table fits right in with their offerings.

      go out side in your yard or park and collect some branches. You can spray paint them or gold/silver leaf them. They are free. Even in a plain vase they look amazing. you can even collect stones for the inside of the vase to hold up the branches. great for spring too. Just add a couple of sprigs of fresh flowers

      whatever color you use for flowers twigs, get some pillows in that same hue for the living room

      Thanks mike, I'll check out that site. I def need to bring colour in, I've just been unsure how to do that. I was looking to change two of my pillows on the lounge to two grey pillows like this. Hard to see what it will look like though. But there are some great ideas. Thanks all, hope I can get this right :/)
