Funny you should ask, LightingGal. It's actually just the opposite. it's quite grippy. Unlike many PVC's which rely on an embossed 'grain'...or worse...a printed grain w/ NO texture, Zuri has a clear protective layer which has quite a bit of texture for grip. It's the layer below that textured clear protective layer which is the unbelievably accurate wood-look part. and believe me...you can stand on this stuff and think it's really wood...the look is that good. I'm sure that Royal Building Products' website has more info on exactly what the various layers are, if you really want to get into the nitty gritty details. Hope that helps! :)

There are so many handrail systems out there, it's simply mind-boggling. Not only do I not consider a matching handrail system a detriment, I actually prefer that. I find that some feel compelled to use the same manufacturer for handrails and decking (when such are offered) and that (in my personal opinion) tends to look too homogeneous. I'd rather see contrasts of material, color, texture, etc...
