We have Brazilian Cherry hardwood throughout the majority of our downstairs, but the dining room and formal living room are currently carpeted. We are hoping to install hardwoods in those 2 rooms to have the entire downstairs hardwood. We have been told that by many hardwood installers that matching is nearly impossible and installing another brazilian cherry next to our current floors would make it obvious that they arent the same. Seems our options are as follows: keep the current carpet, install another brazilian cherry that will not match, install a different type of hardwood in those 2 rooms, pull up the existing hardwood and install brand new (the floors are still in great shape and would triple the cost of the project).
