Any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix a botched interior (exposed) concrete floor? Anyone with experience using micro toppings?

A bit of background info...building new. Architects knew we wanted concrete on our first floor but only allowed for 2.5" of concrete. Concrete floor is cracked in many places & the aggregate is exposed in various patches (we did not request this).
