Funky or traditional lighting?

I am in the process of decorating a home that we just renovated. Our living room is at the entrance of our home and it is the first thing you see when you walk in. The room is pretty traditional to transitional, but I am thinking of possibly mixing things up by adding a funky pendant or chandelier. Right now, I am considering this polyhedron from Restoration Hardware. Thoughts…? (The chrome chandelier is that is in our adjacent dining room.)

Absolutely gorgeous, and I think you have a great mix of traditional and contemporary to have this choice, there is no right or wrong answer but I absolutely love the polyhedron black light I think it is gorgeous and not overly traditional that it would look out of place, but it has character. I definitely think it's a great idea!

Sorry I meant to say it is contemporary but has elements of tradition too but not too much to look out of place!

i wouldn't do it, its to stand off against the beautiful finishes you have done here...you can go funky but stay neutral...

and my last attempt has natural beads and rope wrapped...it could be just funky enough..made by crystorama

I think it coincides perfectly with the flooring, I like lighting to be reflected from the floor

Be sure to hang the mirror correctly at the mantel so it will double the effect.

Thanks guys! I the room already borders on being pretentious and stuffy. I thought some funky lighting might relax it a bit. @Mila Interiors, I was definitely hoping to reflect the floor a bit with the color, thanks for your insight. @Flair Lighting, I also like the lighter polyhedron you found. I appreciate all of your feedback!
