Flooring help

We are building a new house, open floor plan. We will be using tile in the mudroom, through the hall to the kitchen. But right next to the kitchen will be wood floors. I have become enamored with some of the wood look tiles but think it would be a bad idea to put them next to real wood. Any thoughts?

It all depends on where you live. In Canada we rarely see this much tile...it is too cold and it takes a ton of heat to keep a house warm with that amount of tile. California is tile heaven.

I would choose the hardwood (that will cost the big bucks...so you want to get it right) and then go ahead and find a complimentary tile to go with the wood.
