Where are you situated? I've had a few adventuresome souls try cork flooring (both glue down and floating) and the underfloor preparation didn't work = ruined flooring. You will need "stuff" that is ranked as "out door" grade because yurts (gers in Mongolia) are not considered "indoor" spaces in the sense of the indoor finishings require climate/humidity controlled heat/cooling systems and moisture barriers laid over crawl spaces...etc.

The Europeans have things called 'mini' kitchens that are on wheels, fold up and even have a mini-fridge and small sink attached. Not chef quality...but these things exist.

I live in Central Alabama. I haven't done much research on flooring. It will be on a mountain where the front half is over a basement and a deck one-third around the yurt, front on stilts. No central air and heating, old fashion wood stove for heat.

Hi, We make kitchens for yurts. One thing you need to be sure off - do not cook on Gas - the water vapour will rot your canvas. Use Electric or a wood burning stove instead - there is a full range of such cookers. Also - remember that fat/oil on the canvas is not a good idea either. Good luck with your project.

If you have western red cedar yurt like me, just look for minimalist kitchens and think vertically.
