my (future) room has chocolate brown carpet and I'm going to be painting the walls white. I'm also planning on building a shelving unit thing around the window that will hold my bed under the window, plus give me some good storage, my dilemma is that I don't know what wood to make the shelving out of. I wanted a really "cool" feeling wood, like a nice light pine, but I don't know if it will go ok with the the brown carpet... I don't want to go to dark because I don't want it to make the room seem even smaller then it is. I'm going for a loft kind of feel, with lots of splashes of colour.
