My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Island color

We are building a new home have the same wood and a similar stain. Our wall color will be fairly close to this pic. We would like to possibly paint the 5x7 island a pastel color etc . Any thoughts or stay with the same stain idea.

    If you would like to add some colour --- a painted island is always a nice feature piece in your kitchen --- not sure I would recomend a pastel colour to this rustic look.
    I would pull in a darker feature colour that may already be exsisting in your flooring or back splash - or any other solid colour that is exsisting in your kitchen that will help pull it all together.

      The cabinets are knotty alder wire brushed with a custom grey/ brown stain that we made in our plant. The countertops were provided by a local supplier http://versatileconcretedecor.com/

      Yes although our stain has to be sprayed on, it is not a stain that can be applied by hand.
