Hi, thanks for your question and observation. Each door is on its own pivot and the size of the opening 2'-6" x 6'-10". Since this is a bathroom door in a narrow space we needed to accommodate for such an opening. However the door height is slightly larger than a typical 6’-8” because we wanted the top of the door frame to hit the midpoint of the tile pattern on the wall. Thus adding a bit of symmetry to the space. Perhaps given your height, installing a 7’-0” or taller door would be more comfortable for you. Every detail counts, especially in smaller spaces such as bathrooms! Good luck with your project.

I would love to see a picture of the doors opened. By the way, it appears you are in Chicago. My project might be too small ( condo bathroom + installing a washer/dryer inside new cabinetry next to kitchen). I'm looking for a group to do design and install. Do you charge to look at a job and estimate? I'm in DePaul area

And if I understand you right, when the doors are opened the width of available space would be 36" …not counting the space between the pivot and the door frame.
