Happy with the roofline?

I am building a home with a very similar rear elevation, same patio. Right now the roofline ends at the furthest wall on the back and stops. What you've done here is very smart and I am considering the same -- bringing the patio out 3-4 feet and extending the roofline. It certainly looks brilliant, but I was wondering if there have been any concerns about the main floor of the house being too dark as a result of the roof overhang?
