spackle and caulk is great for filling holes;)

I would slide the sectional up so the back of it is not in front of the window. It looks like there is room. Then try that small console table on the back of the couch instead of against the wall. The two pics propped on it could be STACKED next to the window then.

The larger wooden piece in the room could use a big piece of art to tie in with the colors in this space. OR a tv could sit on it???

Do not worry about empty corners. You need blank/empty spaces in a room to keep it from overwhelming you.

I thought about moving up the couch but I am thinking of adding another seat to the sectional to make the right side longer and keep the area big and open, the tv is actually mounted on top of a fireplace to the right of couch. thanks for the tips on the pictures I just got them but havent decided where to put them yet.

Am thinking about art work above the buffet either a large piece (though what size is best?) or two long rectangular pieces side by side or just a square one? below are examples of what I mean in shape only not subject or colors.

You may even want to tape off the size you think might work just to make sure before you buy it.
