How is the shade hung?

I would like to know if this shade is hung from a rod and if so, what type and is it mounted on the ceiling or wall? Also, what keeps the pleats so sharp? I there a strip of wood or the like sewed in? I want to try and make a shade like this and would appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks!
