Okay, so we are remodeling a bathroom that is basically "T" shaped, we are not tiling underneath the existing cabinet and sink. A rough sketch of the room layout and dimensions is attached.
So here is the dispute: Originally we were thinking just one kind of tile, we just needed to settle on the size of the tile. We went to the local home improvement store and they gave us an idea: where the tub is, or where the sinks are, put some mosaic tile to break up the room a bit.
WE really liked this idea. The that we ran with it was not having any in front of the sinks, but only in front of the bathtub. It kinda gave it the look of a "drying area".
we had the mosaic tiles all picked out, as well as in the process of picking out the tiles for the rest of the bathroom when we get advice not to do it. The thought process is that if we put down this mosaic alcove, then future buyers will look at it, and in essence, instantly not want to buy the house.
I still want to do the alcove idea, rest of the household is following the advice blindly.
Back to the design at hand. I have attached a picture of the mosaic tiles next to the bathtub boarded by the tiles that are much like the ones that we would use in the rest of the room. I just want to get an opinion on how people think this would look when finished.
No mosaic tile and all just one kind throughout? Or hell yeah mosaic tile alcove? Would this affect you in any way if you were a perspective home buyer? (haha)

Oh yeah, and the tiles are just laying loosly on top of the backer board.
Pebble mosaic was actually my first choice, but even before we got said advice, the rest of the household shot it down. lol
