I picture something along the lines of Shale by Benjamin Moore...can't really tell the accents in the granite and back splash sample, but a "greige" tone as they call it would be cool, elegant, clean...in my opinion!

Thank you both for your suggestions. Part of my issue is we have lots of golds and browns in the adjoining family room (brown leather sofas, etc.). Would the greige colors work w/ that? My kitchen is very open to the family room so it all kind of becomes one area.

I suggested that as it looks like the granite has those tones in it. It probably would work. What color are the walls? Is it open to the kitchen area?
Another color to try is BM Monroe Bisque. It's lighter and has a neutral tone to it, but more on the pale gold side.

Grab a couple of sample size cans of paint and paint some squares near the adjoining space...it's worth the extra expense! Benjamin Moore definitely has a huge variety in that range of greige colors...one is bound to be perfect! I saw Husky Grey in a picture, that looked great...but until you see it in your light, no telling! Bisque is beautiful as mentioned above, it was in my group if samples recently for a similar project at home...

I have BM Thunder and I absolutely love it! I used it at 50pc strength.

Our cabinets our the same color as yours. I hired a color expert and one of her suggestions was Dunn Edwards Cream Wave. We love it.
