I like it!

I think a few well placed "apple green" coloured products (tea kettle, sugar jar, etc) and a photo (a picture of a green apple comes to mind) will offer up a "reason" for the green to be on the walls. Once the green has a reason for "being" (ie. other objects to tie it all together), it won't feel like a "one-off" colour. Adding in another $80 worth of decor will do the trick. It can be as simple as that to make a colour like this "work".

what kind of light bulbs are you using?

I love this green. Very fresh and pretty. Cancork Floor Inc. has some great suggestions. I kind of wish the backslash and counters were also lighter and more colorful though.

It looks like the color my daughter-in-law painted her kitchen and hers is perfect. It always makes me feel cheerful.

I like what Cancork Floor has suggested, and it is a beautiful color! Maybe highlight some other areas of the kitchen as well, so that the lit areas don't seem as prominent. Both of these options could work! That, incorporated with the added apple green pops of color will make the walls seem perfect.

I would tone it down with more of some softer earth tones. Something in the same family as the back splash but maybe a little darker. To your defense my we painted our kitchen with a green color like yours and it looked great. We put a lot of colorful pictures on the walls too.

there is your problem. go to a warm white, 2700k... do you have a dimmer, and bulbs that dim? maybe even less wattage.
