Hello! There is always the possibility of water splashing outside of the shower. You have to have enough clearance with the glass measuring at least 30-32" wide. This also depends on the size of the person showering, water pressure and the type of shower fixtures. You may need another inch or two added. Of course when you get to shower door panel that is over 34" you may have to step into the shower in order to turn on the water. Hope this helps!
