Should we do an accent color on the fire place???

We just bought our new home and have decided to do grey and white in the living room. We are painting the walls a light grey. It is the middle color in the photo and aren't sure if we should the fire place the same grey or a different color? One other question…. Should we paint the wood around the fire place white to match the ceiling and baseboards??? Help!

sorry kare, but the trim on the FP should be the same as the FP wall
as seen in this ref pic (for continuity) ;-)

Paint it the same color as the fireplace.

Hi, there! I think your fireplace would benefit from being painted darker than the walls. I like the darkest grey you have on the wall - on the right.

And, yes, I would paint the trim on the FP the same white as your baseboards.

Frankly, the trim should be removed. If not possible, then yes, same color as fireplace wall.

Haha, our fireplace wall was pink as well. I think the leftmost grey would be lovely and not too much to live with

You have something against pink?! LOL Consider removing the trim and the hearth for a more updated look. I like the FP a slightly darker shade of gray.

To be honest, I feel like that FP needs a ledge at about the 5' mark, and a piece of art propped on it.

It looks like a tricky area to decorate/furnish.

Looks great with the ledge removed! How about built-ins on either side (not too tall)?
