Plant is a good height. I like the chair in the corner. I'd move the round end table in between the sofa and loveseat and put a table lamp on it. Send the floor lamp to another room (unless it might work to the side of the chair away from the corner).

If I could see the wall straight on, I might shift the TV an inch or so to the left away from the lower shelf.

All in all, the wall and room look great!

I agree with Groveraxle to place the end table btn love seat and couch and then place a table lamp on it. It will serve a dual purpose and give you more open space in the room.

. I don't think you need any art ledges by the tv.

How about this.....

First, correct place for console has to be chosen. It looks to be correctly placed.
Second, move the tv to center of console
Third, move the left ledge to be centered over tv
Last, looks like right ledge needs to be moved to the right.

With chair there, right ledge now has something to visually "rest" on.

Hardly ever do I disagree with CDR, but in this case, I would keep the TV where it is on the console and pull the whole console exactly 1 1/2" to the left. OK, maybe not exactly, but a smidge to the left. Move the plant an equal amount to the left, and you are finished!

Grover I think that would work. Before moving shelves, move console to left do that tv is centered under the art ledge. See how you like that.

You moved it more than a smidge. Get out your measuring tape and make sure smidge is marked on it. Or look at the pink lines on the photo below.

What you might want to do in this case is this:

-disregarding the art ledges for now, place the console where you would like it in relation to the furniture grouping. Normally, it should be centered on the couch across from it.

-set chair in place also.

-tape off with blue painter's tape where you think the ledges should be placed.

-take photos and post on here.

I loved the first pictures, I thought it looked like a professional created the rooms, all the changes are beginning to feel choppy and mismatched. .....also wall color is so perfect, great job.

To center top shelf over tv, I will have to move it 16 " to the right and then move bottom shelf 9". See blue tape lines. Does that seem correct?

Hi. I think both chairs work.However, looking at your idea book, I think the solid fabric fits in better than floral. Noticed you changed some of the pieces on the art ledges also.

I like it, but would go solid. I don't think you need another pattern.

I liked the floral chair better too. I don't like the pillow with the new chair. If you are sticking with the new chair, maybe try the original orange pillow.

I do like the pattern on the chair, but I don't like the legs. Have been away for 2 months and am looking at the LR with new eyes. I agree, pillow on chair does not work. It's too late to return chair so it's mine. I still feel that the TV wall is not quite right.
So, thoughts/ opinions please....
Would this solid pillow work or should I have a pattern?
Would 2 stacked pictures work on the left side of the tv wall?
Would a square coffee table or ottoman type table (leather or fabric) be better than the wood table?

I also need to stat my dining room. I don't want a formal dining room. I have an island in the kitchen for breakfast.

The living space is open and includes living, kitchen, and dining area. The dining area is not large and is adjacent to the living room.

What style will look the best with the LR? Industrial, contemporary, french country...

Would this DR style work? Is it too trendy?

I think the black and white pillow works, and I like it better than the solid.

For the dining room, I'd go more modern, less rustic.

I think your room looks good. Continue with the clean, modern lines in the dining room. Neutral tones with a pop of color if you want.

Have you thought about replacing the pot that the plant is in now with something more substantial?

ljhoch, you've done a great job with this room. It's sleek. modern, and comfy all at once. And it isn't fussy. I feel like you've carefully curated every piece in the space, everything is interesting, well-proportioned, and all of it works. Maybe instead of asking US for help, you should go pro. ;-)

Groveraxle, thank you. Feed back is always helpful. I do enjoy decorating and proportion is an important element to me. I've struggled here because I was starting from scratch and had no accessories to pull from my "basement" and they make the room. My budget was limited too, so I was trying to get the look without spending a bunch... Lastly, I struggle with color and I find myself always staying very neutral.

There is nothing wrong with neutral tones. It is really a matter of choice. If you don't have a ton of money to spend, having a neutral base with color you can easily change out (pillows, etc) is very wise.

Your room looks great! Have you considered adding some pops of colour in the in the room with your framed items? These are from an Australian company called Inaluxe....
