Shutters? Window Protection?

I live in the Western Pacific and we have these metal "typhoon shutters" that are so ugly but open like an accordion over the windows and are locked shut in the event of a storm or typhoon. Your windows don't have anything of the sort so how are your windows protected from strong winds or debris?

That is a great question Jade. Our windows use missile-resistant, high impact glass that drastically reduces the potential for damage and is considered as a replacement for storm shutters throughout the coastal areas of the US and Caribbean.
