what kind of metal is used to hold the rocks into place? I am wondering if this would work as a retaining wall with a small wood fence on top. if I cemented posts in and then put the fence and rocks around the posts?

The metal holding the rock in place is heavy duty galvanized mesh. A fence could easily be incorporated into the rock (and below) to secure the fence posts. If you look at some of the other images for this project you will see a horizontal board fence with black pots on front. This fence is built on top of the gabion wall.

This gabion wall looks great! Is it made from galvanized metal cages? How tall and wide?
