Bianco Carrara is a great product and this bathroom is a classic but I would have considered a larger size Herringbone based on the area covered, like a 1x3" or a 1x4" mosaic or even a 3x6" or 4x12". The idea is to show less grout.

It is very pretty and a classic look. Timeless. So the design irrespective of a few size differences is excellent. It is highly likely that the customer did not have access to other sizes. If you are not aware of the 2 million square feet of Carrara Marble we carry then you are stuck with the small retailers and access to about 8 SKU choices. Our Bianco Carrara collection has over 300 SKU choices.

We offer a selection of over 40 Herringbone Formats, from a 1x2" Herringbone for $9.45 a Sq.Ft. and Free Shipping (all prices on this post are valid until June 2016 - it maybe longer but we have to give a date).

Part of our Carrara Collection Herringbone Collection from 1x2" from $9.45 a Square Foot.

More products from our Herringbone Collection.

A 1x4" Bianco Herringbone would show less grout lines on the floor available in Honed and Polished.

In this bathroom floor the customer used out $8.00 a Sq.Ft. Carrara Venato 6x12" Honed and had it cut by us into 2x6" to create a more balanced Herringbone for a larger area.

The Tile and Stone industry is actually quite corrupt. It was one big cartel for decades until e-comerce started to break that down. Installers having retailers who are buddy's feeding false information and confusion to consumers to create seeds of doubt and make them nervous. This way the Contractor can control where you buy from.

Tile guys are really not keeping up with the times. About 1 out of 50 try and say that our products are not Italian Marble for two reasons:

    1. Our prices do not reflect what they have been fooled into believing for over half a century by Marketing experts (and they are nervous of change).

    2. They have a nefarious relationship with a specific wholesaler or distributor, who provides under the table incentives to the installer to get you to buy the tile from the place the contractor suggests. Tickets to a game. Cash. Whatever..... but you are paying, it is built into the cost of the $25/SF Mosaic you are buying.

You need to ensure the contractor is independent. If he is not no matter who else you buy from he will find fault. He will only be happy once you have returned all the other tile. Then purchased from his "buddy John" who he has known for years (this is a good indication). If you are in this position and really want that contractor, you are in a NO-WIN. You have to buy from who he says and accept you have to overpay for the tile. (Yes they will say, the tile company will invoice you directly to create the illusion of transparency, but you are simply paying more, they will just charge you more).

If you are in this position. At least go to the tile store "undercover" and see the prices. See what you can negotiate. Do not mention the installer. You will then be buying from the place he suggested. You simply cut out the installer. Again, this could lead to conflict... again better off just accepting you are beaten or find an independent tile guy.

The savings if you can find a true independent contractor are incredible. It is a net positive on cost over the value of the remodel on the home. $10K to create $20 added in home value.

100% Italian 1x2" Herringbone Honed. From Carrara Italy. And the ONLY Google Trusted Store retail or online that sells it. Ask why? It is actually free to be a Google Trusted Store. 90% of companies advertise on Google. Becoming a Google Trusted Store lowers your costs of Advertising. So what reason is there not to be one? Because they cannot. Everything perhaps is not what it seams.

How are our prices so low is explained here: http://www.thebuilderdepot.com/about-builder-depot.html

Then for those that want to dig deeper let's get into this page we [created on Houzz.com[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/to-buy-marble-online-or-to-not-buy-online-that-is-the-question-dsvw-vd~3812051).
