Mixing Metals

I'm building a custom home and am going through light fixtures to add to the house. I found a chandelier in Antique Silver that I love for the foyer. On either side of the foyer are the living and dining rooms. Can I have chandeliers in different metals in either room which can be seen from the foyer? If so, am I limited to certain metals?

I love mixing metals and finishes, yet you have to balance them, just like mixing woods / finishes in furnishings. I've attached some photos to give you an idea. I think it makes it easier to change things around and makes items pop a little more, because it's not all the same.

In my opinion, it is ok to mix metals as long as you stay with the silver tones......in other words, don't mix gold with the silver tones.....

Wowza ! A great chandelier! You should be able to find other lighting fixtures in nickel that are close enough.

Okay, I tried to say that was a great chandelier but could never have hit the target like Darla - Wowza! is the word I would have used if I had thought of it:)

I believe that as long as the opposite room that has the other chandelier is in keeping with that room it will be fine... if that was me, I would put the same chandelier in that room and maybe a smaller size....it will look great.

That chandelier will be the queen bee of the house. No one will care if your other metals match it.
