Forgot to say. I have a friend with pebble tile, but just in the shower. It takes some extra cleaning time because of all the grout, but looks very nice.

Although not in the bathroom, but an area of my kitchen, I just finished installing wood look tile on a wall to the ceiling. It was a piece of cake. Should definitely not be a problem for a tilesetter. And it looks awesome, by the way.

@ M & G. I thought all tiling needed grout to help prevent moisture from getting behind the tiles. Could you give a lesson on why this isn't necessary with "plank style" tile?

such as a shower wall etc. i believe the question/comment was regarding a regular wall

you should never install tile in a shower area without a grout joint regardless of how good of a job you did with the waterproofing.

I just did exactly that. Fell in love with a wood look ceramic Daltile called Parkwood Beige at Home Depot. and set it vertically with two niches. Used the same tile for the floor outside the shower on floor. Inside the shower I used a miniature version of the same tile in a pinwheel tile pattern with higher COF rating. looks beautiful, very zen. set off with Kohler frameless Infinity shower doors and a rain shower head.

Very nice. It's interesting how different the plank tile looks when it runs vertically rather than horizontally. As you said, yours is very zen. Mine is very Western.

Carol, we did the entire floor. The tile came from Lowe's. One trick we learned the hard way was to be very careful choosing the grout. What we thought matched the background of the tile, turned out white instead. The men had to remove it all and re-grout with a color that blends with the tile.

the ones for the shower are the same ones used for the floor. ceramic or porcelain. you can find them anywhere tile or flooring is sold.
