What steps did you take to ensure that the retaining wall stays in place and what system was used?

the soil is cut out, perforated drain tile with a sock is placed at base and then as the wall is built filter fabric is placed against back of wall stone and pea stone is used for back fill. In this case the stones were battered back 1 1/2" per stone.
