I think in this setting/decor it looks good - would not look appropriate in many other settings

I wouldn't go for this look myself, but I don't absolutely hate it. If someone loves it then they should go for it. I don't think I would call it elegant though. It's more rustic to me. I can't imagine cuddling up under a fur with all those little hairs tickling my nose, whether real or fake. If you like fur, it should be hung on the wall as decor.

I do have to say that I love Everything else in the picture above. The wood is beautiful!

For me a fake fur throw in the winter can work, though be careful it doesn't end up being kitsch.

Fur throw do not like it personally but it does go good with setting. I couldn't imagine wrapping up in the fur. Fur maybe would go nicely on the wall somewhere. Not sure if I would want it on the wall either. Room and bed is absolutely beautiful. Hunters would love the fur on the bed or wall so really it is a personal choice.

I think it's fine for this rustic room. I wouldn't want it in my home but my brother, the hunter, has two bear rugs and a 9 foot (standing and mounted on rock) grizzly bear in his house. Too each his own. A fur throw would look great in his California mountain home.

I guess it would be ok in the Nordic countries. I don't like any kind of fur, real or fake or animal prints for that matter.

The Restoration Hardware faux fur throws look great on a distressed leather sofa. They also have a wonderful feel to them.

For this past Christmas, I bought my two grandsons, two adult daughters and me fake fur throws...we all love them...especially since we all live in New England.. Real fur? Never!

I didn't vote because I don't like either choice. This is a very personal statement piece. If I rented a place with a fur on the bed, I would immediately and carefully remove it, But if you like it, then keep it. It is neither elegant nor tacky in my opinion. It suits the lovely room and furniture - but only if the user of the room finds it comforting.

Usually yes, depending on the rest of room design however, when it's 92 @ 9:30am, half a block from the ocean, I can't even imagine it.

I have one from Restoration Hardware and it is the coziest thing to wrap up in and nap in the winter months.......it looks good in this setting. However, a friend of mine has a contemporary living roomand has one over the back of the sofa and it does look lovely. Just a matter of personal taste and preference.

I think it's inappropriate to have a dead animal in ones home.

it's primitive and extreme to say the least. A beautiful down comforter is more practical...I do have a fake fur couch throw...I paid 3.00 for it new in a yard sale :)

Faux definitely would work. They are wonderful and cozy. RH has them, Chapters/Indigo had them at Christmas… Honestly when I walk into a room and see a real fur… I do everything I can to avoid it. This is a lovely room… avoiding fur will give it a better vibe.

What is everyone's opposition to real fur? It's no different than the leather handbags and shoes we all have. Besides, fur is WARM, so it serves a purpose when used a throw blanket.

The throw is totally appropriate in this setting … but seriously need to tone down the friggin wood in this room with some wall coverings or perhaps a different bed. In fact, the throw is the only GOOD thing about this room.

I love the whole room. I am able to appreciate everyone's taste, even if it is not my own. I love the bed! I love wood, especially teak, cherry, and Hawaiian mango. I don't care for oak, unless it's quarter sawn.

A fur throw is nice, but it seems odd on the bed. I like a bed to be clean and simple. A throw can look great over a big leather chair or to soften a big wood bench.

NO to fur, ok to faux (if you must). I'd prefer a custom, hand-made quilt.

I personally would get a fur carpet instead and a plain bed set because I think it's too much on the bed & it would seem uncomfortable. Change the carpet

Since I also wear fur as clothes, I like fur anyway. At my home lying hides on the sofa, as a ceiling I have a fox blanket, which is very nice and cozy. In front of the fireplace is a lynx. So, I would never hang on to the wall, even if I shoot enough deer on the hunt. Fur is ok.

Faux sure...(Sorry that was a bad pun). Faux fur can look great, in the proper setting, especially in the mountains. My feelings towards real fur are that it's okay if you've hunted the animal and used every part of it. I don't like the idea of an animal being killed just for a rug. If you hunt big game, eat the meat, use every other part of the animal that you can, and want to save the pelt then I think that's just grand. Allow nothing to go to waste.
