A great wall for a rich color!

Is this to be a music recording studio, a rehearsal room, a teaching studio or just a place for your piano? There are factors to consider in each case, so can you be more specific?

I am a musician as well :) I would suggest whatever inspires you when you are writing or playing. Here are a few ideas:

Nice to have a music room! I love Urban Outfitters big floral wall murals. I personally don't care for 'theme rooms'.... musical images in a music room, unless you have personal pictures of you performing at Carnegie Hall or some such :) .

This is pretty close to the swatch you had on the wall. And here is some loft art from art.com. It's big enough for your wall...if you get two or three of them. I'm partial to the red with your new wall color.

What age range are the students? I would decorate to keep them inspired and interested.

I like your idea of framing old sheet music - you could do an arrangement similar to this one which I did in a living room. Centre your arrangement on the wall and use wider white mats to showcase the sheet music (think gallery style). Regarding the paint colour you propose, it's hard to tell on my monitor but err on the side of grey-blue versus powder-blue. Without seeing the rest of your space or knowing your budget, I would also replace the wall to wall carpet if possible. It is not great with the wall colour or the mood you are trying to create. Re the wall arrangement- you could do two rows of four... and not three rows of three as in my photo...

Here's the real bonus for a music room though: It's a bouncy stretchy material that is suspended from all of the edges, so it absorbs echos and reverberation, improving the acoustics of the room!
