Ideas for decorating a grey bedroom wall?

I just moved into my new loft apartment and had the walls painted grey. I'm stuck on what to put on the wall above my bed. Or what color accent item to place on the wall. Any suggestions would be great.

Additional info: apartment is midcentury danish modern. bedroom door is a sliding door. Bed and wall are grey.

Thanks! :)

You haven't featured your headboard as it deserves. Can it be raised or the pillows moved to show it? Try a pair of wall sconces.

The deep grey wall and your bedspread are fantastic! It may just be your photo, but I long for more contrast in the headboard...it kind of blends into the grey wall. Maybe add a fantastic textured, woven African textile in some reds or greens for contrast. A large, black and white piece of artwork would be nice above the bed. Or a collection of woven, flat baskets in various colors would look masculine but add some color.
The lamp looks a tad small, so a bold, dramatic light would be cool to replace it.

WOW! That is a good price for a queen bed. I'm getting sleepy looking at it....even if there is some contrast, I still long for some color above it to separate it a bit more from the large wall. Especially because the bed sits very, very low.

A nice piece of art could be placed above the headboard and you might want to consider introducing a bit of color through this art piece to add a punch of color which would ultimately warm the space a bit

I love the grays and the bed. I think as others have commented a pop of color would be glorious. Some have mentioned red, how about orange or yellow - both are great contemporary looks for the grey palette. You could do this in many way. Change out the pillows with new ones or new pillow covers. Find a lovely patterned modern influenced fabric and reupholster the headboard. And of course art work above the bed would be stunning. Again it could be a black and white photo of your favorite place on earth, consider printing on a high gloss aluminum print and big or a collage of one piece broken up into an interesting combination. Tilesurfaceimpressions.com can help you out with the aluminum print and the quality is amazing. Also for great affordable fabrics look at spoonflower.com - for pillows, wall art and more. Good luck
Post pictures of your choices. Would love to see your final soluton.

What about hanging a picture on the wall? It looks great. Here I would also like to suggest for a candle lantern hung on the wall. They look very nice at night. See my attached pics. You can have candle lanterns from here http://www.justartifacts.net/candlesholders.html

I think this picture shows colours and tones that would go so well in your bedroom. Somewhat monochromatic but with a bit of colour to add interest and a little bit of the Scandinavian style you apartment has. Using art or photography with a lot of white in it will create a nice contrast against the grey wall.

I'd add a large yellow canvas with freehand text in black & white & a small amount of orange. Other good options for the canvas background colour would be turquoise, kelly green, or hot pink with white text (buy a cheap canvas and sample pots of interior wall paint to do the background. Then repeat the canvas colour in some cushions & a throw on the bed (or in your bed linen). Good luck!

While you could slipcover the the head board, just draping a quilt throw would be a quick way to change colors and have extra covers when needed. With the right choice of art you can pull colors from it for pillows and throws for accents and rotate them seasonally. For instance you could use many of the abstract pieces shown on this thread with bright yellow and grey ikat print pillows that are trendy now. Or release your inner Jackson Pollack with a few samples of paint and make art and coordinating pillows.
