Here are some interesting "shapes" from my living room walls. After receiving lots of comments under the "Advice" discussion thread (and LOTS of wise cracking comments about the obvious...), I'm still not sure if it's safe to remove them. Though I appreciate the advice to embrace them - and hang tassels from them - that's not really my design style. ;)

@hamima: What are those things?!

No idea. The general consensus is that they are covers for electrical boxes, which is why I hesitate to remove them. House is circa 1963. Odd, especially the one 6 inches below the ceiling!

HI -- These look like some ones creative attempt to cover something like maybe some old vents or electrical connections using some ceiling medallions . I would re-move them just to see what is behind them and because they are weird looking and the source of amusing silly jokes and comments.

Back Bay Boston style "wedding cake" acanthus/rope/reed and ribbon trims, corbels and moldings, set off with a more transitional/generational and less fussy interior.

:)) I'm tempted to post the 12 dead mice I found in the shed yesterday. They are recurring shapes, for certain.....

In progress. Waterwise Landscaping. Lawn originally covered the entire area. Lawn will be removed for faux grass. Drought in Southern California. Rock and pavers.
