Just curious, why couldn't the faucet go on the back wall against the straight edge of the D shaped sink?

I'm a little surprised by your question, since this detail should have been addressed by your kitchen design team long before your countertops were due to arrive.
Be that as it may, a few questions for you, to help you with your decision:
is the faucet a single handled model?
If so, is the handle on the top or the side?
If it's on the side, which side?

Contemplate the way you function in your kitchen, even moving about the space doing a mock prep of some kind.
While the ideal place for a faucet is behind the sink, it's hard to know how much clearance you have for the faucet the benefit of without knowing the actual size of the sink & the size of the sink cabinet base that it is going into.

If you wouldn't mind providing more details, I'll do my best to give you advice.

The straight edge of the sink will be in the front the curve towards the back. Are you suggesting that we put the faucet in the middle ? And if so, where do you suggest the soap dispenser go? I appreciate all input tremendously!!

Lynn thank you sooo much. My kitchen design team was me and I have no experience in this. Unfortunately we have a very limited budget so I have been trying to do everything by myself. To answer your questions. The sink cabinet base is a 36 inch base. The sink is a Dowell "d" shaped 16 gauge sink provided by my granite supplier. We purchased a Delta single handle pull down faucet Addisson Delta Faucet 9192-. We will also purchase a soap dispenser. There definitely is room to put the faucet in the middle as opposed to the side.. there is plenty of room. I was just of the impression that with a D shaped sink the faucet goes on the side. The handle is on the right hand side. Also if we put the faucet in the middle where would you suggest that the soap dispenser go. Thank you so much for your help..I greatly appreciate it.

I would put the faucet in the middle of the sink. Is the sink a single or double bowl? If single bowl, then place soap dispenser on either side of faucet- which ever is most comfortable. If double bowl sink, then place soap dispense on the side you plan to wash dishes in. Or don't use the soap dispenser at all and buy something decorative that would sit in top of the countertop. When we were remodeling, my kitchen designer told me, 'soap dispensers' are being used less and less'. He said a decorative dispenser sitting on the counter would look nice. I'm glad I went with his advice. Easy to fill, movable to either side.

Nix the soap dispenser - they usually get clogged & stop working after a while.
Put the faucet in the middle of the sink & scrap the corner sink idea.
And now, you're ready to roll!

You've received good advice from the above posters. If I remember correctly, the Addison handle can be put on the left or right. Ditto on no soap dispenser, but I haven't heard mention of an air gap for the dishwasher, which is important.

You guys have all been FABULOUS thank you sooo much! However, now that we have all agreed that we should center it, though I am right handed should I put the handle on the left since all my counter space and work area is on the right?

With the Addison's high arc I don't think it matters. I don't have a problem with mine and I'm right handed and do most things to the right of the sink. It's also no problem using my left hand if I need to.

I am literally in the exact same boat as you. I hate corner sinks, but am kind of stuck with it unless I want to rip my entire kitchen apart. We are installing our dishwasher on the left hand side (where the wine rack is), and I do my cooking on the right hand side. We have decided on a D shaped sink as well, 19" deep and 21 1/2" wide ( http://www.mrdirectint.com/2421-d-bowl-stainless-steel-kitchen-sink.html). How did you decide on your faucet depth, reach, etc? That is the next stressful thing on my list! Like you, I want it all to be with one single hole - sprayer, handle everything. I'm not looking at having an installed soap dispenser because I like to pick up the bottle and squirt it in the sink if need be. Have you made a final decision on right/left/center placement?
