Master Bathroom

My interior designer said I should use a solid green or burgundy or blue color on my large bathroom window, a swag treatment above my 6' soaking tub. My bathroom is monochromatic. Everything I have seen on houzz is just a pop of color in a flower, or a towel or a plant. My colors for the tile (travertine) is a soft beige/cream mixed with beiges and browns, my faucets are oil rubbed bronze, my granite is very busy, with blacks, browns, a spec of white & a bit of salmon color. I just can't see the colors she is talking about hanging above this very large window and then she wants to add this same color in the chair that I would be using to sit and put my makeup on. She told me to decide on one of these colors, again a solid green, burgundy, or blue. No where do I find this in any monochromatic bathrooms. Am I right? She is not a graduate of a interior design school. Thank you.

You are right. If you need a accent color, take one out of the granite. I think you mentioned salmon color. I think those colors she mentioned are very dated.

She is living in the 80's. The 1980's I mean, or maybe she is 80 yrs old? How about a bold black and cream, Moroccan style print? If you can post pics of the windows that would be helpful to determine scale.

Thank you! I am very challenged with my computer....its not the computers fault it is mine! Taking classes as we speak so can't send pictures. There is a picture I had in the downstairs bedroom called The Girl With The Book or (The Book) It is a oil painting of a Girl with a lot of cream and brown tones, holding a book, it cost a lot to have her in oil and framed but it is beautiful it goes with a sort of sophisticated French theme---any how the paint colors in the picture compliment the bathroom colors. I think with the salmon I will simply find a flower with that color, or a type of pottery with that color. I placed a green plant a topiary that has a bit of salmon color in the pot and it looks great. I may not keep the painting in there but at least I know what to look for. The decorator is not 80 she is very sophisticated, dresses very well but she is a sales person at a high end retail store that comes across with a lot of knowledge......this time she is wrong!
