Thanks for your help!! The accent wall is actually a chocolate brown. I will try to send more pictures soon! The room is extremely small so it's hard to place the bed anywhere else without losing complete square footage and walking space. I'm working with a hard task here, haha. Great suggestions so far!! Also, I would not consider painting the mirror white because it is an old family heirloom. But I agree with that idea!

Although it may seem counterintuitive to place the bed at the center of the wall and have it take up more space, you'll find that it's easier to have access to both sides of the bed and a bit more grown up to. This photo is a perfect illustration of this concept. Although they could have more space by putting the bed against the wall, they left both sides open.

Right now there is too much clutter. It seems that you do have extra space to center your bed against that brown wall and have a pair of nightstands flanking the bed. Place your red lamps on top. Get one with drawers so you can have additional storage. Exchange that table for a dresser and mount your tv on top. Also, the placement on your wall mirror doesn't seem to work with your door. Maybe you can move that mirror to the wall where your TV is right now.

I don't see anything wrong with the color. If you like the color scheme, then stick with it. The red and brown color scheme works.

What about gray color in bedspread and then dark rug- black?

I would paint the bed frame a fun turquoise color, and paint the walls white or a warm grey.

You could move the bed on an angle from the corner so it's not blocking the window. The colors if you don't like them as is I'd go with a gray and a true white and have your black accents

The mirror is very attractive but much too heavy for the bed and the room in general. You don't need a painted accent wall esp. where you have it. The whole room is lopsided because of the dark wall. Paint all the walls in the room the light gray (?) from your duvet. If it's beige then do light beige.

Get a used chest of drawers and paint it a slightly darker gray (or beige) than the walls. Now you can place it under the TV and hide all those ugly cords plus have extra storage. Remove the small cluttered table.

You did a good job with your bedding--it's the other stuff that's keeping your room from looking amazing.

If you want to display the framed degree then lower it so that it's about 6 or 8 inches from the top of the table. Remove the vase of dried sticks & flowers.

Get a little chest for a bedside table and put a lamp on it. Make sure it's close to the height of the top of the bed.

Definitely center bed on accent wall, space or not. Maybe floating shelves and wall sconces would help you. Maybe a white flokati type rug .

Hi Carrie! I like the design and color of the bedspread! For color suggestions, I would recommend an ash gray and lemon yellow, to kind of up the modern factor... Olympic paint has two good color choices, you may want to consider (they are the two in the middle of each swatch) Fuzzy Navel and Volcanic Ash. Good luck with the room, I am sure it will look fabulous!

I have a similar dilemma so I understand why you are placing bed along wall. I like color and have used browns before, my suggestion is not to use too much brown/beiges. Maybe use a pop of color in your curtain, like the color from comforter. Don't paint the mirror as you would regret it later seeing how it means something to you. Another suggestion is using the gray in the comforter as an accent color to also pull the room together. Have fun with what you are doing and you will enjoy the room even more when its all done

I really like the comforter. Look for the rug next and take your colors from that. I find great rugs at overstock.com. Is that gray in the comforter or taupe? I would paint the walls a medium taupe and get rid of the accent wall, it is making the room look smaller. I like the pillows you have. I would try to find a print with the pink/red and the taupe and make a couple pillows out of that, plus a valance or cornice over the window. And bring in one more color, somebody said turquoise, that would be cool, or maybe yellow? Just a pop, not a lot.

Some vintage crystal lamps would be neat, and go with the mirror, which, if you're keeping, I would bring in a couple other pieces of gold or brass metal so it blends in better. Have fun!

I was thinking of artwork, I would look for a modern print, to keep it from being all vintage. Maybe something with circles or sunbursts to echo the shape of the mirror. Or get more mirrors and do a grouping on that wall with the big one.

I love the dark accent wall - I think it adds drama! But my thought is that there are two competing focal points (the mirror and the bed) and you should pick one. If the mirror is going to be the focal point, I would love to see a large white 'moulding picture frame' in the shape of a square, around it, nailed directly to the wall, to draw even more attention there. I think it would be bold and striking and also be an easy project.

If you want the bed to be the focal point, add a super showy dark choclate brown pillow in the center of the bed....perhaps instead of the taupe pillow. One with glam/sequins/beads maybe - but something that definitely stands out and makes a statement so there's no mistaking that this is the focal point. (Kinda hard to compete with the beautiful mirror, but I think the contrast of a dark and sparkly pillow in the center of the bed would do it). I do wish you would reconsider moving the bed to the accent wall but understand sometimes it's just not going to happen.

The accent bow on the letter C isn't working for me - try taking off the bow.

Floating shelf nightstands would look great (in white on the accent wall) and would allow you to remove the extra little table next to the bed.

If I were to put a rug in the room it would be pretty simple and have a band of the dark chocolate color. I would consider changing the window covering also, but not sure if you want to do that because I think they can be so pricey but definitely add a finished look to a room.

Will the other artwork on the walls have to stay in place? I can't tell if the lamp is red or coral. Those colors and the art would make a difference on what else you put in there. We would love to see what you end up doing - hope you'll post more pictures when you make changes!!

Hi, find a suggestion (see the image bellow) for how to arrange the furniture in the room... and I'll also suggest to color the SAME COLOR indication from image (the 2 walls), into a caramel color (like the pillow from your photo).

I'm not a fan of the dark wall, but if you are, then keep it. I'd add some wall sconces on either side of your family heirloom mirror, for more lighting, and get some lighter, brighter curtains. I think the C and the dark nosegay are too dark. If you can lighten that up and pick up some of the coral red from the bedspread, that would help.

Some sort of dresser or cabinet with doors would provide more storage and reduce clutter - especially if you're disciplined enough to keep the top clear. I'd go with a very light color for it, and get rid of the little black table in the corner.

How about painting the brown wall white, add a wall graphic, and let your bed and curtains be your pop of color.. If you move the bed to that wall you will be surprised how much room you will have

I like the colour scheme you chose for wall and bedspread, but must admit that the white bed frame is throwing me off. Is there any way to paint that the same dark brown colour of your accent wall? Or maybe even the same brushed metal colour as your heirloom mirror. I'm not a pro, but think that would make the whole thing look more decadent, since all the other furniture in your room are in warm/dark colours.

You could paint white grey thin stripes on brown wall or simply hang on it frames and mirrors and other decor pieces in silver and copper..
Arrange bed head against the brown wall..
You could paint the white of the bed. Paint it copper. You could also give it the gold leaf treatment with silver or copper rather than gold, to match that mirror.

You need bedside table. So why not get a chest drawer for the side, in grey with nice copper or glass pulls.

You could also place this chest drawer across from bed and hang your sunburst mirror above it, to give it a dresser look.

Please get rid of those curtains in first pic. Get grey long curtains or grey blinds.

Get table lamps in red or white. Or metallic (copper) types which are installed in wall on either side of bed.

Just finish with a white or grey rug...
