Can you post a close up photo of the brick and stone way? I would suggest you take colour cues from these permanent elements...

I think you were on the right track thinking of blue/grey with white trim. It will draw the eye up and deflect from the reds. I would avoid painting the door red in any case as it is sure to clash with the upper brick, lower brick or paver walk way. Instead why don't you paint the columns white, as well as the upper triangle of the portico and then paint the door (including side window frames) a charcoal grey (to tie in with the roof colour). The white trim everywhere will look great against the upper blue/grey clapboard and make the windows against the lower brick seem bigger. Does this help?

It helps very much - thank you! Think i was 'stuck' on the red door with all the brick. We are thinking either BM Britannia Blue or Vermont Slate for siding with White Dove for trim, columns and triangle body of the portico. Leaning towards BM Wrought Iron for the door/frame. Any opinions on these colors? Thanks again, we appreciate your help.

I definitely prefer the Britannia Blue - it looks like a grey-blue and will go nicely with the brick. And I like Wrought Iron too for the door and frame - or something darker - hard to tell the tone of your roof in the photos. Be sure to post the after photos of your house - it will look amazing!

We are deciding what to paint our siding and we also have red brick. Could you post your 'after' pictures so we can see what your colors turned out like?

Great curb appeal... I love the brick and never noticed the difference in the stairs until you pointed it out BUT I would go with a dove grey for your siding. and do a darker grey for trim.

SIDE NOTE: White on this type of material will show dirt in a matter of weeks and that will become annoying for you.
