Load bearring Column in entry blocks outside views

I have a large entry foyer with 2-story ceiling (@ the Stairwell and up), but the Dining Room is straight ahead with views to outside & Pool, 14x18 ft dimensions, but centered directly into its entrance is a Load-Bearing Columd blocking the direct views! I can't move the column but would putting mirrors on the column help? What can I do here. Open to all advice, I've run out of ideas. Posting pictures as soon as I get home!

    Love your home! I would not want to disguise it. I think it's a wonderful architectural feature to the entire wall. I would not apply or accent the column only. It should be painted and stay as a connecting link to the arches and walls. It will become more focal if it has a different treatment on the column only.

    If you remove the 'fleur di lis' plaque above the column, it will be less of a focal.
