My problem is drainage with the same slope to our sidewalk.

I do not have the amount of plantings here, but when we get a rain lots of the mulch stays on sidewalk; sometimes water stands a well. Any good ideas? As an FYI> my husband does not like the look of the plastic type edging.

sorry for the delay as I have been very sick. this bed has a french drain in the deepest area and a pipe runs under the house to the back yard. So dig down your beds below the sidewalk and then put in a drain to go around the house or to the side.
