Just some general pointers. The best order for efficiency seems to be fridge, sink range (or stovetop + oven) in that order or reversed. Keep a good amount of space between sink and range because that tends to become the major prep area - but not so much space that it becomes inefficient. Stove / range vents best if on a wall, not island or peninsula. Over the range microwaves are also not favored because they clutter up the stove area, close in the cooking area, and are not practical for the short or elderly. However, sometimes over the range is the only place for the microwave, or even preferred by some, but if you are planning a new layout, that is something to consider.

If you want a larger fridge and to lose the peninsula, just off the top of my head (and at midnight too), consider moving the fridge to the left of the sink about where the peninsula starts from the wall. Turn the peninsula into an island. Put pantry cabinet where the fridge is and the stovetop under where the microwave is. If possible, do a drawer microwave in the island, or do a micro on top of wall oven combo. I don't see the need to change the entrance, but it is a little dark in that corner so maybe there is a problem I can't see. That should give you plenty of storage. You can also do a range instead of stovetop, microwave drawer, and the wall oven area can become pantry cabinets too. At my age, I would prefer the wall oven:)
