So pretty! Is this the Annie Sloan chalk paint? I've wanted try it. How was your experience?

Looks great! I have used annie Sloan and it worked great. My black didn't this black.

I am thinking of doing the same to mine. Please tell us more about the process. I have heard that no sanding is required. True?

The paint I used was by Amy Howard. I had never heard of it before, but tried it anyway.
The Annie Sloan paint was only avail in the next town, so this was much more convenient locally. I understand BM has one out now also.

No sanding was required. On the cabinet I removed the knobs, along with a back piece and a towel bar each side of the unit. I didn't fill the holes but the paint filled them in for me.
The top had a lot of dents from keys being put on there and the paint filled in those also.

A 32oz can (about $40.00) did all the pieces.

I started by using the foam sponges on a stick but found it went faster if I used the little foam roller on the long wand/handle (Dollar Store). After it was dry I sanded off the paint to expose the pine in various areas. In my opinion, I thought it looked better than plain black - but that was just me.

On the cabinet I used wax but on the balance I used a poly acrylic varnish - Satin finish - as I wanted a more durable finish - I had read wax may have to be applied again down the road.

I found the overall experience very easy - the cabinet was finished in no time.

A bit more tedious for the chairs as there were a lot of spindles to do along with legs and cross sections.
