Reply to: Hi Linda, thanks so much for your interest in our project! The floor tile is Capella Taupe Brick in 2" x 10", porcelain, 3/8" thick tiles. I searched high and low to find a porcelain tile that looked like real brick pavers and this really does look like it for a fraction of the cost of true brick pavers. The key to making it look like real brick, is setting it with 1/2" grout lines to look like brick mortar, otherwise it looks like tile. It comes in loose pieces, so it was fairly easy to set them in a herringbone pattern. We used a light gray grout. I hope this helps! Best of luck with your project!

Reply to: Hi Susan and thanks so much for your question and interest in our project! The flooring is European White Oak, 6" planks in random lengths, with a custom gray stain. The pendants over the island are the "Glendale" pendant in the largest size from Hudson Valley. I purchased them from a designer showroom, but if you Google them, you'll see that there are many places that carry them. Best of luck with your project!

Reply to: Hi there and thanks for your questions and interest in our project! The bottom of the range hood is approximately 36" above the range top. The homeowner is 6'3" in this particular situation, so we raised it 2" higher than normal to accommodate his height and to be absolutely sure that he wouldn't hit his head on the hood when cooking. We would typically place the bottom of the hood around 33" to 34" from the range top, with 32" being the absolute minimum. To address your other question, the distance from the window wall to the island is 46", the distance from the range wall to the island is 61.5" and the distance from the refrigerator wall to the island is 64.25". In a smaller kitchen, the recommended walking space between an island and perimeter cabinets is 42" for one cook, 48" for two cooks, with the bare minimum amount of walking space being 36".
