Reply to: I agree - there is nothing wrong with the cabinets, but the cabinets + floor is too much wood. I would paint the cabinets. How much space is there between the tops of the cabinets and the ceiling? If you paint the cabinets, I think it might look nice to try and cover that gap. Not a soffit, but maybe raising the upper cabinets 2" and then adding more substantial trim on top (painted the same color as the cabs). Another thing that isn't helping is your table and chairs. Nothing wrong with them, but it is more wood. I would look into more modern chairs that contrast.
