I've always loved beadboard! I love it as wainscot, like it as backsplash here in a perky yellow: bright and cheery without being overwhelming. I really like the combination of classic white cabinets, gorgeous teak countertop, and a splash of yellow.

If using painted cabinets, rich wood-tones can be picked up in countertops, island top, chairs, details.
