The color of the cabinetry is the light color I'm looking for.

These upper cabinets don't have handles. I'm guessing they're springing loaded? This could be another option--handleless with spring loaded opening capabilities.

This style of drawer pulls work as well--non-descript, functional but doesn't interfere with the smooth front of the cabinetry.

The color isn's what we'd want but I like the matte smooth finish on these cabinets. I also like how the drawer pulls are functional but don't make a statement and aren't in the way--they blend nicely with the cabinet.

This is a good example of the color scheme we're shooting for with the darker colored cabinetry (smooth front), lighter counter top and lighter flooring. How I would do it differently would be to have the darker color for the base of the island and lower cabinetry. Not sure at this point if I'd want the higher cabinetry to also be dark or do the higher cabinetry a lighter color. To the left you can see how the dark cabinetry color is replicated for the interior door which is what we were talking about doing. Don't think we would want to do a white counter top, but a lighter color.

I like the darker colored base of the island complimented by the lighter counter top. May want to do all lower cabinets this darker color and while keeping the higher cabinetry a lighter color. Color of interior doors would be in similar color scheme as this darker color
