Susan, this is what I have in mind for the living room fireplace and mantle. I like even the color of the wall. I love the simple lines and beautiful wood around this fireplace. The wooden mantle, the wooden columns are beautiful.. With painted shelves on both sides, some kind of stone around the fireplace insert. I think it would look very nice in my Shoreline house

Something smaller than this but this idea for entry way in coming in front door to take off shoes and put in basket under bench or coat hooks against the back and maybe up above some boxes to put away winter hats snd gloves etc

I am thinking of the entrance. The right side of the picture has some hangers for coats and a bench below to sit to put on shoes etc. Maybe something as simple as this would work for the entrance. And a shelf or two above and that might be enough. The painted panels on the wall look great
