Wood veneer tiles. Maybe I could paint the existing engineered wood sheets to match the accent wall or just go black or white, then glue these wood tiles to them

wood veneer ceiling. I could just adhese a nicer veneer to the current one. I could also replace the existing cross strips with a matching wood, or even painted (since they wouldn't likely match exactly). So it'd be- take all the fixtures down, take the paneling down (can I do this without destroying it? How does nail removal work?) then adhese the veneer on the existing engineered wood, put it up, nail it up with the new cross pieces
