This is very oversized but is an example of poss cabinter and seating bench in dining area.
Possible pull out for coffee bar. Allows extra space to fix coffee, pull out coffee maker to have access to fill the reservoir, etc. I don't think I would use it for cutting but it should be easy to clean and maintain.

I like the way this elevated end cabinet provides a bit of a shield for the island as you come into the kitchen. And would maybe provide for outlets on the back of it. NOTE: I don't need this kind of storage for cookbooks. I keep those elsewhere.
