Thank you nycdiane. I AM bohemian at heart. I appreciate your insight. Starting out this discussion I was thinking about reupholstery and deleting or moving furniture. Most pieces hold some sort of connection with me. Specifically, the Dolphin chairs which I know look traditional but mostly they are beautiful. We bought at Ethan Allen 25 yrs ago. They showed them with some sort of royal crest upholstery and we spent hours going through every fabric they had. I guess we were just shooting for an authentic look. I have been dreaming of upholstering them in something fun but not trendy. I have black and white swatch sitting on one of them but lately I’m noticing more black White stripe around and don’t want to be trendy. Am I being weird. Also, I spent a lot of energy and returns to finally get zebra rug that I love But wonder if I did do blk/white on chairs might be too much on same side of room. Meanwhile I just moved on of the slipper chairs out of the way. Wondering; bench,stool,ottoman?
