My kitchen with low ceilings looks into my sunroom. This shows how nicely those two space types can be integrated.

My kitchen expansion will spill into my sunroom. I like how the end of this island is attached to the island, but distinct in design so it feels like an element of the room next to the kitchen, connecting the two rooms.

I don’t love the design of this, but the concept is what we want: having the bar in the dining room. I would want more counter surface and much less wine bottle storage.

We would like to consider a bar solution in our dining room, opposite side of room from the kitchen. This is a similar concept, but I would want the glass front doors left and right, not central. The central section should have a large frameless pair of locking hideaway doors that go countertop to ceiling. Behind the doors would be a bar sink with liquor bottles above. Wine coolers below counter. Bar and wine glasses inside the glass doors.

I like the cabinets, warm colors, and how this feels like almost like a bar at a pub, where people would like to come and sit and connect with one another.

The light fixtures, the blue accent cabinets, and how the eat-in kitchen table is an extension of the island and could be used for food prep or as a buffet line.

I like how the counter doubles as the eat-in kitchen table, although I would want the stools to slide fully under the counter, and I don't want a white kitchen.

I like the darker wood cabinets, but that the space still feels very warm and welcoming. If it makes sense and saves money, I would like to re-use some of my existing cabinets, which are in good condition.

I like having the range in the island with no hood over it. I am tall and range hoods are always in my face or line of site. I hit my head on them. I don't like facing a wall when I'm standing at my range. I want to be looking into my dining room while I'm standing at my range. I want to be able to serve pancakes directly from my range onto the plates of people sitting at the bar.

The bar stools slide in under the counter so they are out of the way when people are standing for food prep. I like how the seating around the L-shaped bar surrounds the other island and how that second island has a different color top.

The cabinets are similar in style to my existing ones and I may like to reuse some existing cabinets. I like how the stools are out of the way under the counter.

I love the connection to the outdoor space. My patio and pool deck are in close proximity to my kitchen and dining room and part of my motivation for this project is to better connect the indoor and outdoor spaces, as well as to bring more natural light and openness to my kitchen.

This is the concept plan for my future kitchen. The curved lines are common paths of travel (from my garage entry to the right, from my front door to the top, to my dining room to the left, my family room to the bottom, and to my planned future pantry).
