Worth more discussion: Frank the older and I visited the site today; those windows are really deep (lots of rock wool insulation), liked the burned wood to decrease maintenance required (a Japanese technique) & I do notice that is isn't really necessary to leave all the raw wood indoors (some surfaces painted.) Issues to my thinking are noise reduction & cost & keeping it dry during construction. It looks as if the "glues" used are safe.
