Hello all: We are in the midst of a kitchen reno and are trying to finalize the design of our eat-in space - two dilemmas.

(1) the shape of the eat-in space

- go with an L-shaped banquette with an 18 inch deep seat (95 inches along the back and the shorter end a total of 43 inches). Pros - we won't be able to fit chairs on the other side of the table so we can get more seating with an L-shape. Cons - shallow seat

OR

- go with a bench (95 inches wide) but deeper seat. Pros and cons visa versa.

(2) how high to place the windows. We are about to order windows for the area where our eat-in space will go. The thought was always to bring in a lot of light to that space. We have the opportunity to make this whatever we want. Originally, I wanted them to start low (to have as much window as possible) but now I'm thinking that since I want the space to be cozy, I wouldn't want someone to have to lean up against a hard (and sometimes cold) window. I wonder if instead of starting the windows right at the seat, instead I would start the windows higher and have some bead-board along the wall between the seat and where the window starts - but how much?
